Learning to play the piano is a commitment. It takes dedication, discipline, and patience. I give my students the tools needed to develop these characteristics and to learn on their own.
All of my students learn how to collaborate with other musicians by regularly learning duets and ensemble music.
Whether they are competitive performers or recreational players, I strive to give my students a well-rounded music education including technique, theory, history, improvisation, and composition.

The Importance of Teacher Education
As a lifelong student, I am constantly learning. I learn from my colleagues, my students, and my mentors. As a piano teacher, I have many ways to participate in professional development, including attending conferences. You will notice on the studio calendar that there are multiple weeks throughout the year that I am out because I am attending a conference. These experiences allow me to be the best teacher I can possibly be. While there I learn about new books, products, and teaching techniques.
"Mrs. Sarah is nothing short of a phenomenal piano teacher. Once my daughter started private lessons with her, I saw an immediate growth and a motivation to learn like I had never seen before! Mrs. Sarah truly has a gift. She knows how to harness a child's strengths to help them learn faster and actually get excited about what they are learning. We love you Mrs. Sarah!!"
Amy, piano mom
"I like Mrs. Sarah because she lets me play the card game."
"I always want to take piano lessons as long as I have Mrs. Sarah as my teacher."
